Petards, the AIM quoted developer of advanced security and surveillance systems,
announces that it has been awarded a contract to supply Bombardier Transportation
(“Bombardier”) with Petards eyeTrain on-board digital CCTV systems for Bombardier
Electrostar Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) trains.
Petards eyeTrain saloon and Driver Only Operation (DOO) CCTV systems will be fitted to
new four-car BOMBARDIER ELECTROSTAR trains that Bombardier are building for Govia
Thameslink Railway for operation on the Gatwick Express route. The contract has a total
value in the region of £1.5 million and is for additional sets of equipment of the type presently
being supplied on an order awarded to Petards in October 2013. It will be supplied as an
extension to that order and deliveries are expected to commence in the first half of 2015 and
be completed during that year.
Commenting on the award, Petards Chairman Raschid Abdullah said;
“We are pleased that Bombardier has again selected Petards technology to incorporate onto
these new Class 387/2 BOMBARDIER ELECTROSTAR trains and we look forward to
working closely with them on this project.
We believe that this contract award is another example of the growth opportunity available to
enable Petards to develop its business in this exciting market sector.”
